One man’s trash is another man’s hiding spot.
Dashcam video has captured the moment a suspect dubbed “Oscar the Grouch” was busted hiding inside a garbage can while trying to evade cops, authorities said.
The alleged perp, who hasn’t been named publicly, was caught when an unsuspecting sanitation worker went to try and dump the bin into a garbage truck in Huber Heights, Ohio, on Monday.
The footage shows the sanitation worker springing back in shock just seconds before the suspect suddenly popped his head out of the plastic dumpster.
“As luck would have it, “Oscar the Grouch” — as we’ve nicknamed our suspect — appeared at just the right place and the right time,” Huber Heights Police said in a statement following the arrest.
Cops had been on the lookout for the suspect since he fled an earlier traffic stop nearby.
Officers happened to pull up behind the sanitation truck just as the worker made the bizarre discovery.
The trash collector could be seen frantically trying to alert cops as the man jumped out of the bin and sprinted off.
“Thanks to the impressive athletic ability and swift response of our very own Officer Perez, the suspect was safely apprehended,” police said.
“The suspect was taken into custody without injury to anyone involved.”
