Prathab Muniandy is sure to dazzle you with his smile, thanks to his record number of pearly whites.
The dad-of-one, from Malaysia, has 10 extra teeth than the average person. That means that with a total of 42, he holds the record for most teeth in a person's mouth (male).
His record was verified in 2023 following examinations by two dentists, and what’s even more amazing is that he has a further two unerupted teeth.
Prathab, 33, who works as an engineer in the oil and gas industry, said: “I first noticed this in 2021 during a family tea-time gathering, when I mentioned to my family that I seemed to have extra teeth growing.
“We counted them together and found that I had 38 teeth at the time. A dental X-ray later showed that there were four more teeth that had yet to erupt. By early 2023, I realized that I had a total of 42 teeth. Fortunately, most of the teeth grew straight and without any complications.”
Prathab said that most people don’t even notice his extra teeth until he points them out.
It makes you wonder how many people you’ve spoken to who secretly had a world record.
Prathab went on: “People are usually very surprised and initially find it hard to believe, especially when they learn that I have 10 more teeth than the average person, who typically has 32 teeth.”

Prathab also says his extra teeth don’t have any negative effect on him, although he works hard to maintain good oral hygiene by brushing twice a day and flossing regularly.
On earning a world record with his gnashers, he added: “It feels amazing and quite special to know that I hold a world record for having the most teeth.
“I would like to acknowledge my supportive dentists, Dr Shovannia and Dr Arivinthaan, for going the extra mile in taking care of my oral hygiene and supporting me throughout this journey.”
Kalpana Balan (India) holds the record for most teeth in a person's mouth (female) with a total of 38.
