March 16 (UPI) -- Animal protection officers in Philadelphia came to the rescue of a dog stranded on an elevated train track support beam at a station.
The Animal Care & Control Team of Philly said on social media that Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority Police alerted animal protection officers on Sunday that a dog was stranded on a train track support beam at the 63rd & Market platform.
"Witnesses had seen the small dog running along the tracks before she became stuck on top of one of the support pillars," the post said.
SEPTA maintenance brought a cherry picker bucket truck to the scene, allowing an animal protection officer to go up and carefully remove the small shih tsu mix from the beam.
The dog, who was not injured, was dubbed Dottie by rescuers. It was unclear whether her owner had been identified.
